John E. Stell, Jr. Position: Partner. Born Atlanta, Georgia, June 19, 1954; admitted to bar, 1978, Georgia. Education: Mercer University  (B.A., summa cum laude, 1975); University of Georgia (J.D., cum laude, 1978).  PRACTICE AREAS: Litigation; Municipal Law.

  • Mr. Stell heads the Litigation Department at the firm and practices in the area of municipal law, being City Attorney for the City of Winder, Georgia and the City of Commerce, Georgia.  He is also general counsel for the Winder Housing Authority, Barrow County Airport Authority, Joint Development Authority of Winder-Barrow, the Winder-Barrow Industrial Building Authority, and the Royston Housing Authority.  He handles civil litigation, including insurance defense matters.  He also handles personal injury claims, contract and commercial disputes and real estate related litigation and zoning matters.

  • Mr. Russell heads the Real Estate and Business Law Division of the Winder Office.  He practices in the area of real estate law, including contracts, closings, lender representation, rezoning matters and foreclosures.  Mr. Russell also handles Will and Probate Administration as well as adoptions, including step-parent, third-party, and agency adoptions.

  • Mr. Smith leads the Real Estate and Business Law Division of the Lawrenceville office.  He represents developers, builders, banks and individuals in an assortment of residential and commercial real estate related matters, foreclosures and tax deferred exchanges as well as corporate law issues.  He also handles new business organizations for limited liability companies and incorporations, leasing, private lending and foreclosures, wills and probate, asset diversification.

     

 

 

Kenneth A. Mattison. Position: Partner.  Born Atlanta, Georgia, September 28, 1967; admitted to bar, 1992, Georgia.  Education:  Toccoa Falls College (B.S., cum laude, 1989); University of Georgia (J.D., 1992).  PRACTICE AREAS Real Estate Law.

  • Mr. Mattison is part of the real estate division of the Winder Office.  He drafts residential and commercial contracts and conducts residential and commercial closings.  He also handles business incorporations and probate issues.
     

 

 

Mitchell A. Musser.   • Mr. Musser is an associate in our Winder office and handles business formations ranging from single member limited liability companies to multi-tiered entities, and federal taxation issues including asset protection planning and 1031 tax deferred exchanges.  He also handles residential and commercial real estate transactions including closing real estate transactions and resolving landlord and tenant disputes.

  • Ms. Wood is an associate in the Lawrenceville Office. She handles various residential and commercial real estate transactions including closings, contracts, easements, leases, and foreclosures. In addition to her real estate work, Ms. Wood handles wills and probate administration for clients and serves as a Guardian ad Litem for Walton County.  Additionally, Ms. Wood handles civil litigation, including insurance defense matters, personal injury claims, contract disputes and real estate related litigation.
